They are assisted along the way by a Texas Ranger named LaBouef( Matt Damon)together they find justice and pursue Chaney.

There were some things I did not expect such as, the spankings or the snakes. I did not enjoy how the end felt very rushed. True grit actually started very slow and sluggish, but it did not take long for things to pick up!I did enjoy the gun fights and the shoot outs, though. my favorite part of true grit was the end of the film. It shows that all along it was Mattie speaking in the movie. in the end you see how she aged and she talks about how she wished she kept contact . I somewhat liked how she was the same witty and sharp tongued woman form her younger years, however life didn't play out quite as I expected it too, for her future self. It was nice how she informed us on Cogbourns life after the adventure. I also admired how they didn't tell the story of LaBouef's life, because doing so left some mystery towards the story.

Overall, I would give this film three out of four stars. It is probably not a movie I would want to watch again. I do advise people to watch this film it was a really great western film. I'm not personally a fan of Western Films, but I did enjoy watching True Grit. It showed what courage could be in a whole different light.
