FR2- The Shattering Serparation: A review of War Horse

Film: War Horse
Year Produced:2011
Director Steven Spielberg
Cast: Peter Mullan, Emily Watson,Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, and Benedict Cumberbatch

War Horse takes place in Great Britain before and during world war one. Ted Narracott (Peter Mullan) goes out to buy a plow horse for his family's farm but instead bids on a race horse which he bought for 30 guineas. While struggling to pay rent, they must teach Joey to plow the farm to make their money back, so Albert Narracott (Jeremy Irvine) takes on the responsibility of training Joey. In the long run Joey successfully plows the farm and right before harvest the farm floods and destroys the crops. Devastatingly,Ted Naracott sells joey to Captain Nicholls (Tom Hiddleston). From then on Joey was officially made a War horse and Albert follows in suit and later enlist in the army.

I really like the scenery of this film . I liked how they showed more than just war and combat. In war horse they showed normal people who also lost everything, like food and how they had to rashen. The film showed how food and supplies were things taken from innocent people in midst of war. the only thing I did not like about this film was that during the fighting and whatnot they stopped the war just to check the horse caught in the wires. I doubt that such things happen in real life.

Watching war horse made me feel so emotional. the whole first half of the film literally gets you invested into the bond that is built between Albert and Joey. The separation between the two was shattering. i would give this film four start and i would recommend it to viewers. I enjoyed watching this movie i would view it again. I oddly thought it had the perfect amount of combat and affection. If you are an animal lover i strongly advise you watch this film!
